Build A New Home This Year

It's a great time to buy a new home or condo at Cypress Villages!

Free Money.

President Obama extended and increased the 2008 tax credit for new home buyers through 2009. The $7,500 credit has been increased to $8000 and is now refundable. How does this all work?

First time home buyers can purchase a home and receive up to $8,000 from the IRS. Here are some important points to know:

Planting Begins!

Next month Cypress Villages will begin planting trees, a crucial first step towards establishing a sustainable “food forest”--a method of agriculture that emulates natural woodland ecosystems, only with yields useful for humans. With the help of sustainable agriculture students, FFA and interns, 470 trees have already been purchased for this first planting. Trees include a variety of apples, cherries, pears, nuts, and more.

February 13th Update

Iowa First!

LEED HOUSE

Expected to be Iowa's first LEED-Platinum rated home, the new house at Cypress Villages nears completion.

June 28th, 2008. Cypress Villages Update

Progress at CV has been good, despite the wet spring. SE Iowa is rated Zero for seismic probability and Zero for Hurricane probability. Rain has come on time and in plentiful amounts for many generations (could it change? we'll see). Tornadoes are a statistical probability, which can be mitigated through early detection and Safe rooms. And now we confirm that Floods are almost impossible at Jefferson County "Island".

CONSTRUCTION PROGRESS:

We have set Foundation Stones for three single family homes and two eight-plexes in May. Roads must be in place before homes, and two weeks ago we started the main entrance to Phase II, the North-central area. The construction grade roads are in place as of today, with the entrances off of highway one to both Phase I and Phase II waiting on culverts and permits a few more days.

PHASE II OF CYPRESS VILLAGES RECEIVES FINAL SUBDIVISION APPROVAL!

Cypress Villages update January 14, 2008:

This morning, January 14, 2008, Phase II of our subdivision was approved by the Jefferson County Board of Supervisors. Phase II includes 32 residential lots, many of which are sized for multi-family homes, plus our Community Building/Meditation Hall. We're pretty happy.

Happy Holidays from the Cypress Villages team!

After months of planning, the Cypress Villages Subdivision broke ground for the construction of 179th street on December 13th. Drish Construction worked in the snow on the new road just north of the intersection of Airport Road and Highway 1.
