Happy Holidays from the Cypress Villages team!

After months of planning, the Cypress Villages Subdivision broke ground for the construction of 179th street on December 13th. Drish Construction worked in the snow on the new road just north of the intersection of Airport Road and Highway 1.

179th Street will serve the multi-family, retail and light-commercial buildings in the South-east corner of Cypress Villages. Plans for this area include retail, offices, an alternative fueling station, the MVC Welcome Center and a general store. All the buildings will be constructed to comply with LEED Green Building standards and Maharishi Sthapatya Veda Architecture.

The first homes and condominiums are scheduled to begin in January and be available for occupancy by May. “It’s really happening,” says Phillippa Mecham. “It’s a milestone for Green Building in Iowa and I’m thrilled to be part of it.”
